Phyllis welcomed me into the Morris community with such grace and vitality. I never spoke with her without coming away with several ideas to ponder through the day--her observant, witty comments about matters large and small were worth paying attention to. My condolences to her family.

To the Gausman Family, I was saddened to learn of Phyllis Gausman's passing. Mrs. Gausman had a profound impact on my life throughout high school. I will never forget her instruction in drama club and throughout my classes. Many of her words and her smiling face stay with me to this day. She will be missed. My thoughts are with your entire family. David Hanrahan

I know Phyllis from the Mn/China teacher exchange. She was fully committed to the exchange and loved her time teaching in China. She was a class lady and will be missed.

I was so lucky to have been anle to work with Phyllis at C-A. As a colleague, she was always a terrific ear and sounding board. She was feisty sometimes - and yet always listened carefully to what I had to say. She was definitely an inspiration and a lovely lady.

My deepest sympathies to the family of Phyllis Gausman ("Mrs. Gausman"). Phyllis was so intelligent, funny, talented, dedicated, warm-hearted, driven and inspirational. I was so pleased to see her in 2003 when she came to my mom's viewing, and I could share with Phyllis my appreciation for what she taught me in her classroom and while in drama club. Thank you, Phyllis, for passing on your spirit.
