Dear Brian,Brett and Brooke, Our deepest sympathy to all of you. The last time we saw your Mother was at Timmy's wedding. We all had such fun. Your Mother had such a good sence of humor. To Brian, Bret, Brooke & family,

Ellis called this morning to tell me of Barbara's death. I was so very sorry to hear of her passing and doubly sorry for her final sufferings. While I was living in Delmar after Max's death, she and I got together and had some fun times. Unfortunately, after I moved back to Ohio to be close to my kids, we drifted apart again. But family is family and we are getting smaller.

My deepest sympathy to you all. Although we didn't see each other very often we're still family. Barbara called me her "baby cousin" because, other than Ellis, I am the youngest. But we shared common grandparents in Will and George Emma Hammond and I bear Hammond as my middle name. I remember, as a young child, going to Barbara's wedding. It was a clear, spectacular day and I thought Barbara was the prettiest bride I had ever seen.
