"I worked with Leanne at West Ottawa. I appreciated her daily smile and how kind she was to students. Leanne had a good sense of humor and a big heart. Sending prayers for your family."

"Oh my goodness, we just lost a dear nephew, and I went on the Obits to find him. Then I found Leanne’s obit. I feel so bad, I haven’t seen Leanne in many years. I did not know she passed! But we worked together at Pine Creek for alot of years. I loved working with her. I learned a lot working with her. I loved her wit, we always made work fun, and always enjoyed our chats about our kids, and the world! I remember she had an exchange student come live with them, then in turn they went to Brazil to be with her and her family. I think the last time I ran into Leanne was at Dr Bader’s (Maple View Animal Hospital.) I was there for our dog’s check up, she came in with a huge Snapping Turtle that got hit on the road. She always loved animals and people. So she wanted to help the turtle. I was alittle nervous because those things can turn their head and bite you really quick. But she carried it in there just the same. They put it in a box, but that was Leanne. Always helping someone or something! I wish I could of said goodbye to you, I just know someday I’ll see you again. We have God’s promise, that with our Salvation given to us for accepting Jesus, it’s not goodbye forever. I love you and will miss you dear friend. We’ll pray for all of you left behind. Big Hugs and prayers to you all! Love, Vicky & Verl Bleeker"

"Leanne was a lovely woman. Always had a sense of humor and a beautiful smile. Loved our camping adventures. Dance like you never have before on the gold streets. You will be deeply missed and your memories will live on."
"I worked with Leanne at Camp Roger. She was a year younger than me. The fact that you included her time at Camp Roger is not surprising to me. She was a delight to work with while we were counselors. She was great with the campers. I suspect part of the reason she went into education was because of her natural ability to relate to children which she demonstrated at Camp. Having lost both parents I know something about death. I know that there is never a good time to lose a loved one but eleven days before Christmas makes it awfully difficult. I know that the closer the relationship, the harder of the loss but the better the memories. Time heals. May God hold you in the palm of his hand."

"I knew Mrs. Herrema when I was a substitute teacher in the 90's. She was the kindest, sweetest teacher around and she was a pleasure to know. My deepest sympathies to her family and friends."
