Deer Creek - Ellen E. Kamp, 90, of Deer Creek, passed away at 1:50 a.m. Wednesday, Jan. 21, 2015, at Apostolic Christian Restmor in Morton.
She was born Feb. 9, 1924, in Deer Creek to William and Alice (Crangle) White. She married Raymond Kamp on March 6, 1943, in Peoria. He preceded her in death on Jan. 14, 1991. She also was preceded in death by one brother, Gene White, and one sister, Marjorie Ambrosch.
Surviving are three daughters, Jane (Randy) Schick of Morton, Pam (David) Newell of Eddyville, Ky., and Jill (Bill) Stokes of Mackinaw; two sons, Bruce Kamp of Morton and Brad (Diann) Kamp of Bloomington; 18 grandchildren; 39 great-grandchildren; and one sister, Irene Strother of Morton.
Ellen was a member of St. Patrick Catholic Church in Washington, where a funeral Mass will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday, Jan. 24, 2015, with Fr. Julius Turyatoranwa officiating. Visitation will be from 4 to 7 p.m. Friday, Jan. 23, at Knapp-Johnson Funeral Home and Cremation Center in Morton. A recitation of the rosary will precede the visitation at 3:30 p.m. Friday. Further visitation will be from 9 to 9:45 a.m. Saturday at the church. Burial will be at Mount Zion Cemetery in Deer Creek.
