Condolence & Memory Journal

We are so sorry to learn of Doug's passing, and he did indeed create fond, warm memories for many of us. He worked a number of years with my Dad, of course, on the County Highway Dep't, and I recall an interesting trip the three of us made to the cabin way up in Quebec, Canada.(there was still snow on the last stretch of road, so we left the vehicle, and walked the rest of the way).

Doug was a wonderful man, always had a smile and a warm hug. He was one of a kind. I remember when I was a teenager and Doug and Mary came to our house in Taberg. I have many great memories of good times with him over the years. My sincere sympathy to Mary Jane, Kim, Jodi, Heidi and Jeff. Also thinking of his extended family at this time.

Mary Jane, my thoughts and prayers are with you and your family at this time. I pray that God lifts up the burden of sorrow from each of you. My biggest regret is not having met Doug sooner as he was such a fun-loving, kind man and always had such a big smile and happy greeting when I would see him. He will be missed by many as he touched everyone he met in his own special way. God Bless you all.

Dear Mary Jane and all your family,

Your loss is shared by everyone at Palatine Manor. Doug was the most special person; we all will miss him so. But we also will remember him with deep affection for the person he was--and we are all so glad that we had the privilege of knowing him. He was a true gentleman In the very best sense of the word.
