Carl was born on June 17, 1921 and passed away on Tuesday, April 17, 2018.

Carl was a resident of Urbanna, Virginia at the time of passing.

Carl enlisted in the United States Coast Guard in 1941 serving as an engineer aboard several ships including the U.S.S. Menges.

A lifelong member of the Urbanna Masonic Lodge # 83, he also served as its Chaplain for over 35 years. He is also survived by 7 grandchildren, Sara Anderson (David), Johnny Carper (Megan), Luke Dize (Susan), Matthew Dize (Ali), Elizabeth Marshall, Laura Browder (T.J.), Olivia Jessie and 9 great grandchildren. Funeral services will be held on Saturday, April 21 st at 11:00 A.M. in Urbanna United Methodist Church followed by a reception. Interment will be in Middlesex Memorial Cemetery, Urbanna. The family will receive friends from 6 to 8:00 P.M. on Friday at Faulkner Funeral Home, Bristow-Faulkner Chapel, Saluda with Masonic Rites at 7:00 P.M. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Carl's memory to the Middlesex Volunteer Fire Department, P.O. Box 71, Urbanna, VA 23175.

The family will receive friends from 6 to 8:00 P.M. on Friday at Faulkner Funeral Home, Bristow-Faulkner Chapel, Saluda with Masonic Rites at 7:00 P.M. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Carl's memory to the Middlesex Volunteer Fire Department, P.O. Box 71, Urbanna, VA 23175.

What a sweet man. I was lucky to have him as a patient at Urbanna Family Practice while I worked there as an RN for eleven years. My sympathy to his family in their loss .
