My wife and I are fond followers of the Pawnbrokers. We will miss that ornery old man who really had a heart of gold, especially with Chumlee - he would chastise him and "ride him" for some mistake, but then come back later with some well meaning gesture. Thank you for your service!

Richard Harrison, Jr. aka "Old Man" was one of the most endearing stars of the reality TV show Pawn Stars on the History Channel. He was one of the most iconic "elder statesman" of our time. His quiet demur and quick sense of humor and wit were priceless.

RIP "Old Man", you will be sorely missed by many. It's great that there are many years of Pawn Stars reruns to watch. Many blessings to your family for their loss.

Deep condolences to the family of Mr. Richard (Old Man) Harrison. In the days to come you will be able to take more time to reflect on and be comforted by the many, many happy memories you shared together. It is also very important to reflect on the gravity of life and what positive acts and good we can do while we still are alive (Ecclesiastes 7: 1, 2).

Rick Harrison and family, I'm so sorry to hear of Richard Sr.'s passing. Long time fan of Pawn Stars and the people on the show. What I remember from watching the show was wishing I could have had a dad like him. That glint in his eyes - he didn't miss a thing - what a legacy he left behind. Your family are in my thoughts. The man will be missed!

He was a self-made smart man, he was a very brave man with a strong heart to have served in the Navy for 20 years. God Bless men like him - they are few around today that know what they are put on this good Earth for and still don't try to find out. Rest in peace Mr Richard Harrison - we will all miss your TV shows where you were still training your sons and loved ones to always do the right thing, and make wise decisions. Thank you.

So sorry for the loss of your beloved husband, father, and grandfather. Condolences to all of the Harrison Family and friends of Richard ("Old man"). I've been watching Pawn Stars for years and always looked forward to seeing the Old Man/Richard on TV. I looked up to him because of his wisdom of antiques and his sense of humor. Even though he was grumpy you could see his mushy side too. He made a difference in our lives.

My wife and I have been watching Pawn Stars since it first aired on the History Channel.
We have always had a deep appreciation for Mr. Harrison's work ethic, the values that he instilled in his family, his incredible dry sense of humor, and most of all, his dedication and service to our country. America would do well to have many more fine upstanding individuals like him to serve as examples for future generations.

Heaven has been enriched by his going home, while we have lost a true American icon. God bless you Mr. Harrison. We look forward to seeing you again.

RIP Mr. Harrison. I enjoyed watching you on "Pawn Stars" trying to keep everyone straight, especially Chumlee and Corey. I guess Rick will have too now. I hope he has a recording of you telling Chumlee to "get to work" and he can play it ever so often.

Rick and Corey, I am very sorry for your loss. It is always hard to lose a love one even if they do get on your nerves every now and again. You have come into a new normal and it will be very different from now on. I have enjoyed your show for many years but I don't have cable anymore. I hope one day they will put you on ME TV. That will be a happy day for me.

Take care and God bless you and your family. I only knew your Dad through the TV show but I think we would have got along just fine. He was a lot like my Mom and Dad in his beliefs and he came from NC.

Thanks again for sharing him with us for so many years.

To Mr Harrisons family and friends you have my condolences. Let me tell you my mother....Paula Christine Pacha 1955-2014.... Watched this many nights together. While many folks liked Chumlee the best for my mother and I "The Old Man" (not being offensive or disrespectful thats just what we called him) was aces. His dont give a crud attitude and his lightening quick and sarcastic sense if humor was gold. Once mom passed away he REALLY became big to me because it brought back memories. More than that though is it dawned on me why i liked him so much..... It was because he was actually like the male version of my mom. So as i watched him it was like having my mom back for a bit. Simetimes as i watched it felt like if i turned quick enough mom would be sitting beside me. Sorry so long i just wanted to share. Again condolences to family and friends. Ill be praying for you guys. Mr Harrison tyvm for all the laughs and making me feel close to my mom after she passed away. May you R-I-P. Also if you find a boatman ready to take you to heaven make sure u explain to him how boats are a waste of money and are just floating money pits.

We have enjoyed watching Pawn Stars from the very beginning. We don't watch a lot of television but this is a show we do not miss. The banter between all of the stars is what initially drew us in. We also learn something new with every show. The Old Man was a down to earth, no frills man who understood a good work ethic and obviously instilled this in his children and grandchildren. His dry humor and just being himself in front of the camera was a breath of fresh air. We had missed him already and hoped for a cameo that would never come. Our condolences to his loving family and friends. He passed too soon but lived a full and interesting life. Pawn Stars was just icing on the cake for a self made real American man. God bless...

So sorry for your loss......please pass our condolences to your entire family, especially JoAnne. The Old Man (Cousin Benny to those of us from Alabama) remember him well.....my daddy and Bennie were first cousins. My daddy was Dub Wilson. Ruby was my grandmother. We spent a great deal of time in Lexington, NC growing up. I stopped by to introduce myself to cousin Benny when I was in Vegas for a meeting several years ago (before the show).....it's been so much fun to follow him on the show these past several years.......so very sorry about his passing.....but I believe he's in heaven with Aunt Ruth, Uncle Richard, grandmother Ruby......and my mama and daddy, Dub and Mary Wilson.

My brothers, sister and I are praying for your entire family.

Mr. Harrison (The old man's character) brought something very real to Pawn Star's, that most likely had so many people watch the show in the first place, the relationship between Rick, the grandson, and of course Chumlee.
I feel all elements worked well together, for without Mr. Harrison, the show will show that missing link amongs't the characters.
My prayers go out to the entire Harris family as well as the entire cast!

So sorry to hear of the passing of "The Old Man". I feel as if I knew him, since he reminded me of my own father in many ways. May God comfort you in your loss.

We loved watching him on Pawn stars! The only man in the show, that had the Old School wisdom. It was refreshing and much appreciated to hear! Thank you for serving America, as well. We will miss him! God Bless Mr. Richard Harrison Sr.

Sympathy to all the Harrison family. The "Old Man's" work ethic and down-to-earth attitude and philosophy on life was so refreshing to hear in this day in age.

But above all we would like to thank him for his service to our Country. One could always tell how important it was in his life.

To his family, the memories you have of him will always be with you in your hearts.

God speed Mr. Harrison.

I am typically not one to watch Pawn shows but my boyfriend does. This "Old Man" would get my attention. He was funny at the things he said. When that famous "grumpy" attitude came on couldn't help but see little display of a smile appear after.

You have been real, and yet your love for each other is so apparent. We need to see that on television: transparency surrounded and immersed in real and solid love for each other. And it has been so apparent that it began with the old man of the family. His love and strength and care for his family and wisdom was so apparent. We mourn with you, and keep your family in our prayers.

I want to thank you for the many happy hours the "Old Man" gave us during winter storms in Massachusetts, it made time go bye! So sad to hear the news. Richard Harrison was not a "reality star" in my mind, he was a genuine human being who set an example with his wisdom and stability. Would that we could all have a father or grandfather like him. He showed responsibility typical of his generation. He'd say "when I was young, we'd get to work ten minutes early!" What a fine example, something he will surely take to heaven with him.
