Such and honor knowing you from showing horses and years after saw Tab Hunter Confidential in Ojai. No surprise because we knew lots of the gay guys in the 1960's at horse shows and we didn't care---it didn't matter, they were our friends and I was 14. Mom , when she travelled with me, didn't care either. Also, remember JJ Smith well and what a hoot. JJ told my Mom he went to Vassar and she thought it was really funny. Tab, most important, you were such a nice person and loved horses as I did. RIP and condolences to your husband. I lost my husband of 41 years this Easter and it is really hard------41 years for me and 35 years for Allan aren't enough. Thinking of Allan.

I was very saddened to learn of the death of Tab Hunter, one of the most handsome young actors the Hollywood studio system ever produced, who was also a talented singer, equestrian and ice skater and seemed like a genuinely nice guy.

In my mind Mr. Hunter will always be that handsome blond boy in his 20s who sure could fill out a Speedo swimsuit nicely and had a warm, inviting smile.

I hope someday more episodes of Tab's largely forgotten but amusing, eponymously-titled NBC sitcom will surface for all to enjoy. That series has not been seen by most persons at this point and not by some since the last summer reruns in 1961, nearly 60 years ago.

My condolences to Mr. Hunter's family and friends. I hadn't even known Tab was in poor health. And it's trite and wrong to say something like, "Well, 86 years is a good long life." It is still always sad when a nice person leaves us, no matter how old that person is at the time of his passing. I also know, when a celebrity of a certain age passe, it is often stated that so-and-so "is one of the last of his kind." But in the case of Mr. Hunter that is pretty nearly true. There simply aren't very many Hollywood actors from Mr. Hunter's era still living among us. And the sadder thing is there aren't very many younger actors around today who possess the same versatile talents of actors such as Tab Hunter. Hollywood is a different animal today, and in some ways not for the better.

Tab Hunter is truly a Hollywood legend. He was a legend in his time and will continue to be so for the ages. I think the best way to honor Tab is to continue to watch the films and television programs in which he acted and listen to his several musical recordings still available.

Posted by Jim Moran - Attleboro, MA   July 12, 2018

Deepest sympathies on the passing of such a fine human being. His talent and honesty are an inspiration, and the real legacy, of Mr. Hunter. We got to know Tab many years ago while he was living in Santa Fe. He was always quick with a kind word and a genuine smile. He will be sorely missed.

I grew up admiring Tab's work, and had the pleasure of meeting him at his 80th birthday party. He was a true gentleman; warm, engaging, and humorous. And very youthful. He could've been a spry, boyish 65-66 year old for all I knew. Everybody loved him. His Hollywood friends loved him. His horse friends loved him. It's a rare bird who can be both a cultural icon for millions, as well as enjoy a rich, rewarding private life that arguably outshone his public one. And to be THAT handsome, for all his life. Dang. Anyway, condolences to Allan, and all of Tab's loved ones. We lost a great one.

I read Mr. Hunter's autobiography some years ago and was impressed with the dignity & grace with which he handled injustices inveighed upon him due to his sexual orientation. I re-watched some of his movies and was newly impressed by his talent. My condolences to his husband, family, and friends.

We just finished watching the documentary on Tab Hunter on Netflix last night. This is so sad. He was a brave and honorable man and a true icon to the gay people in America. He will be greatly missed by his spouse and friends and thousands of fans.

While words fail to capture the pain of losing a loved one, we look forward to the time when words will fail to capture the joy of having our heavenly Father return your dear one to you.
