Mary Jo, this week took me back to a very rainy Fall afternoon circa 1972 (I think). If you remember, you guys had just gotten that little sports car out of the body shop and I met you (literally) head on in your driveway in our Ford Pinto. When I noticed your dad looking out from the window, I was crushed/scared like crazy. Not to worry, however. He picked up the tab for the repairs-both yours and my mom's. I remember your parents being so gracious, so down to earth. Your parents touched so many lives, and enriched us all. Just a few weeks ago, I walked through the modern art exhibit with our Marine Special Ops Vet son. Michael battles PTSD and hopes to enter the KCAI this Fall and ever since he was little he has been inspired by the grace of your parents. May you take comfort that their gift of their lives to us all will live on forever. Tony Wayne.

I first meet Henry as a first year tax pro in Atlanta; after taking the tax class instead of singing an agreement to work for a company in Atlanta for 5 years. I am still an H&R Block tax pro 49 years later and seeing Henry and hearing him many more times. I left Atlanta 2 year later and moved to Jackson MS where I worked for H&R Block and then bought a franchise in Clinton ,MS. It always a treat to see and hear him speak.

It is easy for me to express kind words for Mr. Henry Bloch. He did so many great things for Kansas City and his legacy will live forever. He was most generous and he remained such a humble and kind man. I am glad I knew Henry Bloch. I will his his presence in the city but I know in my heart he will still influence the many cultures he supported such as the Nelson-Atkins Art Gallery and his love for our Children's Mercy Hospital--one of our nation's greatest children's hospitals! "Goodbye for now, Henry. I pray to see you in Heaven."

Henry Bloch was a longtime good friend! He was quite generous and he helped make Kansas City the wonderful city it is today. He has supported so much of the cultural life in Kansas City. His generous and kind donations to the Nelson-Atkins Gallery of Art and Children's Mercy Hospital, among many others, are living tributes to his generous spirit. Henry will be missed but his spirit will live on into perpetuity! I shall personally miss Henry and will always remember his kindness to me and my family. God bless Henry Bloch and his beloved family.

What a great human being. His wealth was just a vehicle to enhance his beloved Kansas City. So proud to hold the Henry W. Bloch Endowed Chair in the UMKC Bloch School.

In expressing my sympathy to the Bloch family, I would like to say that it brings much delight to me to read about people who have accomplished a measure of financial worth in life and are willing to share it with others. It can be said that happy people are those who like to share with others. The Block businesses are known throughout the world, and the Bloch brothers can be proud to know that they provided jobs and other financial help for many people. It is good to know that Henry lived to be 96 years old. I am sure he experienced and learned a lot in life throughout such longevity. May the family find encouragement in knowing that God is aware of all of his creation. He does not forget those in his memory who have fallen asleep in death.

I was fortunate to work part-time for H&R Block as a college student in the 1970's. Echoing the good works of Mr. Bloch, the corporation treated all employees, even part-timers, with dignity and respect. May you Rest In Peace, Mr. Bloch knowing that you helped this individual in his business career. Thank You.
