I worked with GE Corporate in their China operations in 2nd-half of 1980's; Jack empowered us, along with Paolo Fresco, to rapidly grow GE in China -- thank you SO MUCH for your leadership and commitment as well as generosity in compensation based on performance, I could not have embarked on my entrepreneurship path in China. With EXTREME gratitude and the Lord bless you.

Suzy, at your book signing at Duke University, you signed your book, "to A great guy!" after Jack introduced you to me as "Dale is a great guy!" My greatest honor was not that I knew Jack, but that Jack knew me. So sorry for your loss. So sorry for the nation's loss.

The Jack, I knew.. Jack was about building up people, therefore, consistently capturing wins. He would have each of us ponder building on a single idea to capture a huge impact. I've seen it, I've lived it, and later I was blessed to learn even more through the Jack Welch Management Institute, Executive MBA program.
Every day, I see Jack; my graduation photo receiving Jack's firm handshake is right in front of my eyes, driving all those clever sayings, and lessons to be with me, top-of-mind. I will cherish those memories as they have intertwined, my medical career in Chicago and leadership career with the powerful man, Jack Welch. Together with Jack and his wife, Suzy, I remember those life learned lessons and professionally drive to be excellent, to be the top 20% "A" worker and leader, and to empower people around me.
My sincere condolences.

Jack took a chance on me when I was 35, and he forever changed my and my familys lives. I have referred to his pearls of wisdom throughout my 30 + year career, and his principles never fail. I so revered him that I named my youngest son, Jack, after him. Im forever grateful that God placed such a giant in my path, and I am thankful to him for an extraordinary experience and run. Im sorry for his familys loss and the world will miss a brilliant legend. Godspeed, JFW and Peace to the Welchs.

My best,

Working with Jack was the highlight of my professional career. He was the consummate learner and teacher and did both simultaneously and seamlessly. Loved how he remembered everyone he met and something personal about us as well. I am sorry for your loss and know that thousands of GE alumni are grieving with you. Rest In Peace Jack.

Hello Jack

This is Daniel, the unconventional Frenchman. The man with a bow tie as you used to call me in the 80s when I was based and working in Paris and London for GE.

Penni Markefield and Elisa our daughter born in 1990 will remember the famous Glass of Port ritual at the International Resort Hotel in Boca, Florida

I will also always remember your piercing and intense gaze, the speed of thinking that sometimes words couldnt express fast enough, your business ethic and the hard and soft values rules and principles

As for many I learned more during the 10 years working under your leadership than I did during the rest of my business life and remember today going on 80.

It was a privilege and an Honor to serve G.E under your leadership

I am sure you will rest in peace and still active to write for our utmost pleasure your next management book MBA DA VIDA REAL APOS A MORTE" with god as Co- author

En attendant, je vous prie daccepter, Jack le chaleureux au revoir dun admirateur inconditionnel

MERCI

Suzy, I met you and your incredible husband during the Leadership Conference at Southeastern University in Lakeland, Florida. I was the PR Director for the school and was generally in the background. But, during the social event after the conference, your husband and you were extremely kind to me, sharing laughs and taking pics. Your comments about his passing that he had a gargantuan generosity of spirit toward friends and strangers alike is spot on! You both made a lasting impression on me. You and your family are in my thoughts and prayers. Anita Todd, Haines City, Florida

Yes I remember well the time when Mr Welch was CEO. Our family worked at the GE plant in Bloomington. IN and we always wished he could have continued. He was a great man. My condolences to the family. May God fulfill his promise of binding up the brokenhearted. (Isa 61:1.)

When I became part of the ge family after he brought RCA under his wing it was extremely challenging for me .However even though his reputation preceded him l found him to be one of the wisest and fairest people I ever knew.My direct interactions with him weren't many but the ones we had I still can recall. Sometimes they were tough. Sometimes comical. But you always had your chance to voice your opinion. You will be missed by all. May GOD bless you and your family.
