By God's providence I was looking through the Lenski New Testament Commentary I bought at the Half-off bookstore in Rockford, IL sometime in the past year... I just googled to find Jonathan and ask him about the missing volumes from the set when I came across the obituary. While I was shocked to discover this, I am confident in the Savior Whom Jonathan must have loved. I am blessed to be using this commentary set of such a dynamic person. Thanks Jonathan, and Jesus for this coincidental meeting. Alan Tabb of Rockton, IL (I, like Jon, enjoy teaching the Word of God and love reading scholars like Lenski) I hope you get this message alantabb@charter.net

Dear Gary, Gloria and family, Know that though we are still physically separated in this difficult time, in spirit you are never alone. All of you have been in our thoughts and prayers since we heard of Jon's passing. Our prayers continue that the Lord of Grace and Mercy holds all of you close and brings you to a place of peace as He lovingly walks with you through the struggles of pain and sorrow and turns it into healing and comfort in Him.

Joann and family, our sympathy at the loss of your grandson. God called him to. His "forever home" where he will join in singing with all the saints the alleluias as he celebrates the victory. May the Easter message of baptized in Christ----alive in Christ bring you comfort.

New Bodies
For we know that when this earthly tent we live in is taken down (that is, when we die and leave this earthly body), we will have a house in heaven, an eternal body made for us by God himself and not by human hands.
Much love. ❤ U.M.

Dear Gary and family,
Although Jon I didn't know well, I knew Cindy since college. She gave birth to Jon and I gave birth to my Faith on the exact same day. This news of Jon has come as surprise like the news of Cindy going home with Jesus around the same time years ago. We sympathize with your loss of Jon's companionship in this life. We praise God for Jon's faith in the risen Savior and look forward to spending eternity with him.

I rejoice to know that Jonathan is with his Savior. God's timing will always be impeccable! It was a joy to share the earthly journey with him during his years at Wisconsin Lutheran College. He taught me much as we mined the truths of the Word of God together!
May Jesus be the comfort always to family and friends.

Dear Gary and the Polfer family, Jon was one of my first students at WLC. It was wonderful to have such a smart, gentle and kind student and he did much to teach me how to teach. We stayed in touch over the years and he would occasionally stop by to chat and sometimes gave guest lectures in my classes. I am thinking of you and pray that you find comfort and peace especially during this Easter season.
