Condolence & Memory Journal

Just remembering Pete brings a smile to my face. He always had a shy smile and a twinkle in his eye. We were always so grateful, at the Aero Club of Pennsylvania, for his input and participation. He was a passionate aviator. We will miss him and will always remember him with great fondness. Blue skies forever to you, Pete!

My condolences to the family

Iam so sorry for your families loss, and wow what memories you will always have, 98 years old! I met Pete a good 10 years ago through the Aero Club of Pa, and I am forever grateful for the opportunity, even shared a couple lunches and dinners when introducing him to my mother and Dad, my Dad is Navy, and they too had a special familiarity or bond when speaking. I know he will be so dearly missed but not forgotten, what a legacy he leaves behind.

Sweet Pete, Papa Pete, the kindest eyes and happiest smile...we will miss you so much! You are with your beloved Nana Jo now, resting easy in her loving arms. Thank you for your friendship, your wisdom, and for being such a great role model for me and Rhys...your endless encouragement has meant so much to us over the years. We love you!

Soft spoken, unassuming and funny, with a great dry wit... that's how I remember Uncle Pete. I always loved spending time with him and Aunt Joanne. My heart goes out to Pam, Stephen and Knans.

In each lifetime people become friends, and then there are those that are extra special. I met Pete at Shannondell and we became Marine Corp. buddies. Pamela and John Smith graciously treated Pete and I to a trip to the Marine Corp Museum. Pete spoke often of Adam, his grandson Marine in Washington. From the obit, I see that Adam is married and has two children. We know that Pete is up there flying around.

Pete Griffing was a wonderful friend and patriot who we knew through our parents, his wife and his daughter Pam. We are so sorry to hear of his passing.

My thoughts and Prayers to all the family. My Mom always talked very fondly of both Pete and Joanne. Thinking of all of you during this difficult time.
