Chris's quilt in 2002. He thought it'd be funny to make her give the finger for the photo and this is probably his favorite photo of her! He still feels kinda bad 20 years later he asked for such an excessively complicated design, but she was adamant he only get "one per lifetime."

Jupiter 2014. Chris has been obsessed with bikes since he could walk, so he was overjoyed when Maria got into it later in life. He loved talking to her about her rides and how good they made her feel. He really treasured getting to ride with her on visits home. He told her to "look hard" for this one and it is one of his favorites of her.

One of Chris's favorite memories with his Mom in the more recent past occurred shortly before this was taken. A momentary lapse of attention while talking to him over her shoulder put her off the side of the path and down a 15 ft embankment towards one of South Florida's many murky, alligator-infested drainage canals. She came to a stop a foot short of the water. Chris braced for the worst, but she just let out one of her trademark snorting laughs, walked back up the embankment, and continued riding like nothing happened.

Jupiter 2014, giving Corbin a bath. One of Chris's favorites. He often joked he was replaced by a six pound Yorkshire terrier when he left for college, because his Mother needed someone else to dote on. Maria lived to care for others and she absolutely adored little Corbs.
