Condolence & Memory Journal

Helen was a true inspiration to anyone who knew her. She was my Sunday school teacher in the 1950's and a family friend forever to my mom. Sincere sympathy and prayers. God Bless.

When my dad, Tim Zimmermann, took the call to be senior pastor at St. John, South Euclid in the mid 1970s, Helen was waiting with open arms to welcome our family (including three young children) into the church. She loved us like family, frequently babysitting and giving us children special attention that we have remembered and talked about all through our lives. Even after we moved on to a new church in a new state, Helen kept in touch throughout the years, cheering on our family through many life milestones, faithfully sending heartfelt Christmas notes, calling from time to time, and keeping us informed of happenings at our beloved OH church. When I went back to visit St. John's many years later with my wife, Helen was waiting in the pew, her love and enthusiasm making significant impact on my wife who only met her that one time but continued to correspond with her for years after. She had a way of shining God's light on all who surrounded her, and her loving compassionate spirit will not be forgotten.

Helen was a cherished member of the family of volunteers at UH Cleveland Medical Center. Although she has not been able to volunteer for the past few years we remember her boundless energy, enthusiasm and her love for all. She had a memory to be envied and a heart of gold. Rest in peace dear Helen!

I am saddened by the news of Helen's passing. I planned to visit her after my return from Florida but then COVID hit and I could not. She always treated me like a family member and always concerned about me that I would joke and tell her that I now had 2 mothers. My deepest and heartfelt sympathy
