Tribute & Message From The Family

Mary Claudia Marchman
Jan. 24, 1952 - Mar. 1, 2021
Claudia Marchman passed away in her home in Furlong, PA on Mar. 1, 2021 at the age of 69. Claudia was born near Chicago, IL, but as a young child, her family moved out west settling in Palo Alto, CA. She graduated from Cubberley High in 1969, a time of great activism. Claudia was an avid reader and she became active at the school newspaper, the Catamount, which further nourished her love for literature and language. She went to college at UCSB, majoring in History and French, and spent a year abroad in Paris. After receiving an MBA from the University of Chicago, she began her career as a financial analyst in the baking industry and thrived there for more than 40 years, living in Connecticut, New Jersey, and Pennsylvania. Except for the weather, she loved that area because it was never too far from NYC and the lights of the Broadway stage. She was an enthusiastic fan of the theater, especially musicals such as My Fair Lady, Les Miserables, and Camelot, and greatly enjoyed the talents of singers like Patti LuPone. She was always up for touring NYC with friends, but no matter what the agenda during the day, the nights always ended with dinner and a show. She was also a loyal supporter of her local theater, and often enjoyed weekend matinees with friends. She was unfalteringly devoted to family, never forgetting a birthday or a special occasion and never missing a Thanksgiving in Roscoe, PA or a Christmas in California with family and friends. After retiring, she returned to France one last time, took a Caribbean cruise, and was planning several other trips. She is preceded in death by her father, Henry (Hank) Marchman, her beloved "mum," Mary Jo Marchman, and survived by her sister, Virginia Marchman, brother-in-law, Craig Salling, nephews, Eron M. Salling and Alexander M. Salling, her Aunt, Sara Singosky, cousins, Diane (John), Joyce (Jim), Donna (George) and Tom (Shannon) Singosky, and their children. In her memory, please consider making a donation to the charity of your choice.
