Auburn- Gilbert A. Jordan, 89, of Auburn, formerly of Worcester, MA, passed away peacefully on March 29th at the Holden Rehabilitation & Skilled Nursing Center after a period of declining health. Born in Pittsfield MA, he was the son of the late Willard and Winifred Jordan.

He leaves behind his beloved wife of 67 years, Evelyn Jordan. He is survived by his two daughters: Pamela Fuess of Green Acres FL, Patricia Smith and her husband Brian of Charlton MA, his grandchildren: Jennifer Thomas and her husband Kevin of Sturbridge MA, Jackie Phelps of Charlton MA, Nicole Tzvetkov and her husband Evgeni of Shirley, Robert Sikorski and his wife Erin of Sterling MA and Caitlin Smith of Worcester MA, his great grandchildren, Jordan, Grace, Cameron, Eli, Mia and Finn: his brother Richard Jordan and his wife Mary of Seattle of WA. Gilbert was predeceased by his brothers Willard Jordan JR, David Jordan, Bradford Jordan, and his sister Priscilla Raymond.

Gilbert at a young age enlisted in the Navy and proudly served his country. After his service in the Navy, he was employed by H.P. Hood Company. He enjoyed working at H.P. Hood and spent the majority of his working career with the company. In his later years he worked in the Security Department at Hanover Insurance Company in Worcester.

Gilbert loved sports, following his favorites teams – the Boston Red Sox and New England Patriots. He was a strong family man and took great pride in watching his family grow and spending time with them. He was truly happiest when all his family would gather for special occasions and holidays. Gilbert was a man of faith and loved his Church – All Saints Episcopal Church of Worcester MA, having started as a member of the All Saints Choir at a very young age. He always believed the Choir had a major influence on his life.

Due to COVID-19 there will be no calling hours. At the convenience of the family a private Mass will be held at All Saints Church followed by a private burial. In lieu of flowers, you may honor Gilbert's memory with a contribution to the All Saints Episcopal Church Choir Worcester, MA.

Evelyn, I´m so sorry to hear the passing of Gil. I have many fond memories of the both of you coming into the nursing home to visit your mom Sara. He was a very nice man. May your many memories of the both of you help you get through this difficult time. It helps me. I lost my husband in December. I still have your moms Afghan and the beautiful Christmas ornament you gave me.
