I regret that I only became aware of Sylvia's passing this morning, and it is an item I read with great sadness. I knew Sylvia from our days at John Hancock. While I never worked directly in her areas of the company, I knew several colleagues who did, and I know she did much to enrich their careers, and, in turn, their lives. Even though I have not seen her in over 25 years, I can still hear her voice, and see her smiling face. My condolences to her family.

I am so sorry to hear of Sylvia's passing. She and I had many wonderful times together as Alpha Chi Omega sisters at the University of Massachusetts. She was a wonderful woman and friend, always willing to lend a hand. With many miles between us since our graduation, we didn't communicate much but she will never be forgotten.

I knew Sylvia from our time together at Open Table when we both served on the board. Sylvia was kind to me as a newcomer, and her gracious welcoming manner enriched all of our lives. She is fondly remembered.

Sylvia was also a wonderful neighbor to her Jennie Dugan community - often baking or making dog treats and stopping by to visit when walking her beautiful Cavalier King Charles Spaniel, Sophie. She was a gentle and kind soul and will be greatly missed but fondly remembered by all of us here.

Sylvia was an incredible contributor to Open Table. I will miss her quiet counsel and friendship. She was an amazing team member - she really understood how important it is to show up in life for others. May her spirit live on in those she has inspired to be of service.
