Tribute & Message From The Family
Beloved father, grandfather, son, brother, teacher, principal, coach, and friend, Don Boggs, 63, passed away peacefully on January 14, 2022. Don had suffered from stage four esophageal cancer, as diagnosed in April 2021.
Born to Gloria Holladay Boggs and James Franklin (Frank) Boggs of Central, Don is survived by both parents, his brothers Mike Boggs and Fred Boggs, his children Jason Boggs, Betsy Boggs, Katherine Boggs, Kelly Boggs, and his two grandchildren Olivia Boggs and Braxton Boggs.
Don graduated from Clemson University with a Bachelor of Arts in Secondary Education and a Master's of Education in Secondary Education. Don was a dedicated teacher, principal, and coach throughout his 34 years working in education, as he was known to always give more of himself for the sake of helping others. He pushed his students, players, and staff to live with dignity and continually embrace the lives God had blessed them with. He spent most of his professional career at R.C. Edwards Middle School, serving the communities of Central, Clemson, and Six Mile.
"Finally, I want to thank and praise my Lord and Savior Jesus Christ for bringing me HOME!" – written by Don as he reflected on the end of his time here on earth.
A private service for immediate friends and family will be held at Duckett-Robinson Funeral Home. A livestream of the service will be provided to the public for viewing virtually on Sunday, January 23, 2022 at 3:00 PM. Scroll to the video player below to view the service.
The family hopes to have a service of remembrance for Don where folks can gather outdoors when COVID rates are lower sometime later in the year. We hope that anyone and everyone who wants to gather to remember and celebrate Don's life will join us for this remembrance service later in the year.

Condolence & Memory Journal
I have good memories of Don as a coworker/administrator, and I am so sorry he did not have more time to enjoy retirement. I am thankful for the recent visits I was able to have with him as he fought bravely. My prayers and sympathy are with the family.

I've searched for some eloquent words to honor Don, but the simple truth says it best. He was a good man and a good friend and I will miss him. All the family is in our prayers. Rest in peace, my friend. I look forward to us having another wrestling challenge in glorified bodies some day!

To the Boggs family: I remember coach Boggs very well as a student at R.C. Edwards Junior High School. His love for the passion of teaching, his love for the students was unmeasurable and unconditional. He was a true friend indeed. I encourage you as the scripture says in psalms 121: I look to the hills from whence cometh my help; my help cometh from the Lord.

It is a sad day when a smiling face like Don's will no longer bless us. He was a great neighbor growing up and a good friend from D.W. Daniel (the first DWD). All my best to the family.

So many memories wash over me when I think of Don. I will always remember his infectious laugh and sense of humor. Always ready for a prank. But most importantly, he taught me take a breath and monitor and adjust. Know you have received your heavenly reward for a job well done, friend. So hard to say good bye, Don, so I won't. Just see you later.
