Tribute & Message From The Family

Robert E. Schoch, 86, born in Wallace, ID in 1927 passed away peacefully at his home on February 6, 2014 in Georgetown with his wife, daughter and son at his bedside along with his Jack Russell friend.

Preceding him in death were his mother, Anna; father, Robert; and brother, Larry. He is survived by his wife, Dottie; sisters: Annette; daughters, Roseanne and Peggy; son, Stephen; stepsons: Reed and Donn; as well as grandchildren and great-grandchildren, all of whom he loved so dearly.

Robert served proudly and honorably in the Navy, as a Gunners Mate, and then attended DeVry University, in Chicago. His career moved him in many directions. He enjoyed many years as a Boy Scout Leader. His work at the Space Lab included the construction for the "Boy in the Bubble." He was involved in the installation of a school program in Saudi Arabia. Robert went on to work at Meredith Printing Co, Rausch Manufacturing in Minnesota, and led to Northwest Airlines, from which he retired in 1991. Bob and Dottie moved to Austin, Texas in 2006 from Florida to escape hurricanes.
Robert's wit and humor created a great ambience, which will be greatly missed by all.

The Schoch family wishes to express great appreciation to: all the nurses and doctors at St. David's Georgetown Hospital, The Park Place Caring Home, Harbor Hospice, Father Trey Garland, Father Bernard Pecaro, and for the excellent support we have had from N40, our great neighbors and friends. Thanks so much!

A memorial celebration and inurnment will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, March 15, 2014 at St. Martin Episcopal Church in Pompano Beach, Florida. 140 E. 28 Ave. The Reverend Bernard Pecaro will be officiating.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to St. Martin Episcopal Church, 954.941.4843 or The American Lung Association, 5926 Balcones Dr, Suite 100, Austin, Texas 512467, in Robert's honor.

Condolence & Memory Journal

I was walking my dog in our neighborhood when I first met Bob. He asked if he could give my dog a treat that's just the kind of person Bob was. We made fast friends (doggies included)! I will miss him greatly and send my deepest sympathy to Dottie and family.
