In Loving Memory

Obituary

On Friday, March 1st, our Heavenly Father called Aaron Michael Dorsey home to be with Him. He departed this earth after his brave battle with cancer.

Aaron was born on November 4, 1977, to Michele Dorsey, and the late John Michael Dorsey. Aaron grew up in Prince George's County, MD and graduated from Bladensburg High School. His love for athletics led him to run track throughout most of his schooling, but his love for sports didn't stop there.  Aaron was an avid sports fan and especially enjoyed going to basketball games.  He was also an active member of The Church of Jesus Christ Latter-Day Saints where he helped teach Sunday school and participated in various other ministries.

Early in his career, Aaron worked in area law firms in the IP Department, but found his niche with the Federal Government as an Assistant Building Manager for GSA. He was employed with GSA as both a contractor and federal employee for approximately 10 years and worked in several locations throughout Washington, DC.

Family was the most important thing to Aaron and he considered many of his friends to be his family. He was a strong and significant member of his family and loved to plan, coordinate, and host family gatherings. Aaron was the life of the party who loved to laugh and have fun. His curious and adventurous spirit helped cultivate his love of travel which led him to visit several countries.

Aaron touched many hearts. His kindness and love knew no bounds and he encouraged all those around him to live life to the fullest. He was always there to listen and offer honest counsel and guidance, and that charming, no nonsense personality was always filled with love, even as he gave you a piece of his mind. Aaron's generosity can never be matched and he was always first to step up and pitch in wherever you needed him, be it a project at work, at church, helping fry Thanksgiving turkeys or setting up the party.

Aaron was preceded in death by his loving father, John; five uncles, James Dorsey; Trevor, Jan, Arthur, Jr. and Ronald Kenney; and one aunt, Angela Dorsey-Whittingham.

Aaron leaves to cherish his memory, his mother, Michele Dorsey; one brother, Antwon Kenney; one sister, Teiara Dorsey; aunts: Barbara White, Mary Saunders, Sheila Dorsey, Deborah Carter, Sharon Kenney and Cleo Belt; uncles: William Proctor, Francis, Joseph and Paul Dorsey, Sr.; god-mother, Kim Jackson; god-sister, Kena Coleman; god-children, Chanel, Antonio, and Tobias Johnson; a host of cousins, nieces, nephews, friends, and his fur-baby, Teddy.
