Aileen (Brooks) Dameron, 87, of Stuarts Draft, passed away peacefully on Saturday, November 25, 2017. She was born in Stuarts Draft on September 4, 1930, a daughter of the late Sandy and Elizabeth (Hayes) Brooks.
Aileen worked for many years as a cashier for Taylor's IGA and was a member of Stuarts Draft Baptist Church. She was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. Aileen greatly enjoyed cooking and doing crafts; everyone loved her "Nanny Cake".
In addition to her parents, Aileen was preceded in death by her husband, Billy Dameron; daughter-in-law, Bobbie Dameron; grandson, Ethan Dameron and siblings, Robert Brooks and Alice Koontz.
Survivors include her children, Ric Dameron of Waynesboro, Tim Dameron and wife, Susan of Stuarts Draft and Sonia Costa and husband, Stephen of Fishersville; grandchildren, Matthew Dameron and Katherine, Daniel Horne, Christy Templeton and husband, Chip, Carmen Dameron, Seth Dameron and wife, Christina, Leah Costa and Andrew Costa and wife, Brittany; eight great-grandchildren; as well as numerous extended family and friends.
A funeral service will be conducted at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, November 29, 2017 at the Stuarts Draft Chapel of Reynolds Hamrick Funeral Homes with Pastor Dennis Bradley and Mr. Larry Nolff officiating. Burial will follow at Augusta Memorial Park.
Active and Honorary Pallbearers will be her grand and great-grandchildren.
The family will receive friends from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. on Tuesday, November 28, 2017 at the funeral home.
