Mrs. Alexandra Karoplesiti Bocholis, our mother, aunt and yiayia, entered heaven on Tuesday, August 22, 2017.

She was born December 31, 1924, in Karpenisi, Greece, the daughter of the late Konstandinos and Ekaterina Karoplesiti. There, she was educated in the schools and higher academies and grew up climbing trees in the summers with her beloved three sisters, Marika, Vasiliki, and Androniki. In time, she became a schoolteacher. After the war's end, Alexandra came to the United States. Here she met George Bocholis, and they were married in July, 1947. She was joined in the United States by her father and three sisters after her mother's death. She and George were blessed with three children: two daughters and a son. She became a widow at the age of 38 and worked hard to raise her three children.

Education was always very important to Alexandra, and she was proud that all three of her children received a college education. She was a lifelong member of St. George Greek Orthodox Church and after her retirement from K-Mart, worked tirelessly for her church and helped countless people in need. She never refused to help others and was truly a wonderful role model.

Alexandra was preceded in death by her parents, her husband George, and her three sisters, Marika Drakulakos, Vasiliki Rizos and Androniki Karoplesiti. Surviving are her daughters, Stella Baldwin, Catherine Morris and husband, Ted; and her son, Charles Bocholis and wife, April. She had eight beautiful grandchildren and six great-grandchildren as well as many loving nieces and nephews who were close to her.

The family will receive guests at Sechrest Funeral Service of High Point on Thursday evening from 6:30 p.m. until 8:30 p.m. with a Trisagion Service at 7:30 p.m. Funeral services will be held at St. George Greek Orthodox Church on Friday, August 25th , at 1:00 p.m. with the Rev. Anton Frunza officiating. Burial will follow at Oakwood City Cemetery.

Memorials may be made to St. George Greek Orthodox Church, 808 N Hamilton Street, High Point, North Carolina, 27262.

Online condolences may be made at www.SechrestFunerals.com.

The family would like to thank the staff at Piedmont Christian Home for the loving care mom received.

"Her life is a beautiful memory, her absence a silent grief. She is asleep in God's beautiful garden of peace. She left a beautiful memory, a sorrow too great to be told. But to us who loved and lost her, the memory will never grow old."
