Alice (Costa) DoCarmo, 85, of Fairhaven passed away with her family at her side Friday, April 1, 2016 in the Royal of Fairhaven after a long illness. She was the wife of the late Nuno DoCarmo.

Born in Massachusetts, a daughter of the late Antone and Elvira (Costa) Costa she lived most of her life in Fairhaven. Alice was a communicant of St. Joseph's Church.

Mrs. DoCarmo worked in the o-ring department at Acushnet Company for 30 years. She enjoyed BINGO, listening to music and she loved animals, especially her dogs. Mrs. DoCarmo was a very kind, generous and caring person who enjoyed helping others, especially her family. She was a devoted mother and grandmother with a strong will to live. She had a wonderful smile that could light up a room and will be missed dearly.

She is survived by her daughterinlaw, Rosary (DoCarmo) DeMello and her husband Edward DeMello of Mattapoisett; a granddaughter, Shantelle DoCarmo and her husband Rahim Dhalla of Ottawa, CA; and several nieces and nephews. She was the mother of the late Nuno DoCarmo, Jr. and Michael J. DoCarmo. She was the sister of the late Mary (Freitas) Santos, James Costa, Joseph Costa, Antone Costa, and Manuel Costa.

Her visitation will be Wednesday, April 6, 2016 9-10:30 am in WARING-SULLIVAN at FAIRLAWN, 180 Washington St., Fairhaven followed by a funeral mass at 11 am in St. Joseph's Church, Spring St., Fairhaven. Burial will follow in St. John's Cemetery.
