Alice Elizabeth Lemke Thomson, age 94, of rural Claremont, IL passed from this life to the next on Sunday, July 6, 2014 at Burgin Manor, Olney, IL.

Alice was born on November 25, 1919 in Des Plains, IL to Arthur "Art" and Verna Mae (Morrison) Fredrick. She married Harold Lemke on June 14, 1941 and he passed away in August of 1971. She later married William "Bill" Thomson in September of 1992 and he also preceded her in death in December of 2005.
Alice had a very full life, with a variety of interests over the years, that included baking, cooking and canning home-grown vegetables. She also loved to grow and harvest strawberries. Growing flowers and enjoying hummingbirds by the 100's made her happy. In her younger days, she even rode a motorcycle. She had a home in Florida, where she vacationed with both of her mates, and her children, relishing the time spent there. She was a member of the Berryville Christian Church and the Berryville Willing Workers Club. When Alice moved to the farm, she became a farmer and spent many hours on the tractor, working alongside her husband, Harold, fulfilling the responsibilities the farm required. In later years, she enjoyed creating beautiful ceramic works of art. She also became passionate about cards and board games; with Rummikube, Dominoes and Word Search Games being her favorite picks. Alice's favorite saying became: "Just wait until you get my age!"

She was preceded in death by her parents, both husbands, two sisters; Millie and Marilyn, two brothers; Bud and Dick, and an infant child.

She leaves to cherish wonderful, fun memories: one daughter, Betty (Clayton) Wilson of Claremont, IL, three sons: Robert "Bob" (Jenny) Lemke of Fort Worth, TX, Larry (Stephanie "Stevie") Lemke of Peoria, IL and Jerry (Dana) Lemke of Fort Worth, TX. She is also survived by two sisters: Verna "Babe" Pastick of Chicago Heights, IL, and Lois (Bob) Paulson of Lake Placid, FL, grandchildren: Clay (Karen) Wilson of Sumner, IL, Julie (Joe) McIntire of Sumner, IL, Keith (Angela) Wilson of Norfolk, VA, Jean (Daniel) Walker of rural Bridgeport, IL, Kevin (Angela) Wilson of Washington, IN, George (Diane) Hackard, Mike Hackard, Rodney (Wendy) Hackard, Kenny Lemke, Susan (Rob) Batterton, Barbara (Kris) Hanchette, Robbie Lemke, Christopher (Shannon) Lemke of Katy, TX, Kelli (Nick) Reece of Pekin, IL, Megan (Chris) Lemke of St. Louis, MO, Ryan (Tabitha) Lemke of Effingham, IL, Jeremy (Jeanette) Lemke, Huntington Beach, CA and Kim Lemke of Fort Worth, TX, 37 great-grandchildren and 9 great-great-grandchildren.

A Celebration of a Life Well Lived Service will take place at 10 AM, on Saturday, July 12, 2014 at the Berryville Christian Church, Berryville, IL. Burial will follow at Crest Haven Cemetery on Highway 50, Claremont, IL. Visitation will be held from 5PM to 7PM on Friday, July 11th, 2014 at Ingram Funeral Home in West Salem, IL.

Memorials may be made to the Berryville Christian Church.
