Alicia McLeod Favila, 49, of Coppell, Texas passed away July 10, 2017 at a local hospital surrounded by loved ones. She fought a 3 year courageous battle with Pancreatic Cancer and will always be remembered as a loving mother, daughter, sister, and friend to all who knew her.



Alicia was born in Dallas, Texas on January 3, 1968 to Mildred and Neill McLeod, II. She attended Texas Woman's University and graduated Magna Cum Laude with a Bachelor of Science in Deaf Education. She later earned her Master's degree in Education from Arizona State University. Her early career included employment at Mesquite ISD as an itinerant teacher for children impacted with hearing impairments. She also worked for the School for the Deaf in Phoenix, Az. The majority of her career was spent as a Senior Consultant, Deaf and Hard of Hearing Birth to 3 at ESC Region 10. She was also Executive Director at HOPE for the advancement of children who are deaf and hearing impaired. More recently she founded, owned, and served as CEO of Original Score Consulting. Alicia was passionate about helping children and families with early interventions related to hearing impairments.



Alicia will be remembered with great love by her mother, Mildred McLeod, her son, Anthony James (AJ) Favila, her brother Neill McLeod, III, sister, Molly McLeod, and AJ's father Jerry Favila as well as many aunts, uncles, and cousins.



The family would like to thank all of the dedicated doctors, especially her medical oncologist, Dr. Udit Verma, team of nurses, and other medical professionals at UT Southwestern Medical Center and William P. Clements Jr. University Hospital. We appreciate their integrity, dedication, and care for Alicia.



A funeral mass will be held at 10:00am on Thurs, July 20, 2017 at St. Ann's Catholic Church, 180 Samuel Blvd Coppell, Tx 75019. On July 19, 2017 at Rolling Oaks Funeral Home in Coppell, the family will receive friends from 5-9 pm which includes a Rosary at 7pm.
