Obituary

Allison Paulett Sanford, 86, beloved wife, mother and grandmother, died in her home at Woodside Senior Living in Bedford, Ohio on Sunday, April 5th, 2020. Allison is survived by her husband Charles Sedgwick Sanford Jr., currently at residence in Canterbury of Twinsburg; daughters Janice Sanford-Russo and her husband Donald of Independence, Ohio, Deborah Werbeach and her husband Keith of Chesterland, Ohio, Shirley Freshwater and husband Todd of Cleveland, Ohio and son Paul Sanford and partner Sarah of Alexandria, Virginia. Also, granddaughters Jessica Ann Werbeach and her husband Brian of Pittsburgh, Ohio, Shannon Marie Werbeach of Chesterland, Ohio, and Alexandra Paulett Russo and fiancé Christian of Seven Hills, Ohio. She is predeceased by her sisters Rol Gisriel and Ann Stirling.

Allison was born on January 15th, 1934 in Washington D.C. to Richard and Wilmoth Paulett. She graduated from Woodrow Wilson High School where she was an avid athlete and completed a bachelor's degree in Psychology from Depauw University in Greencastle, Indiana in 1956. She worked for 24 years for the Parma City Schools as an aid in classrooms of all ages and ability levels while raising four children.

Allison married Charles S. Sanford, Jr. on June 23rd, 1956 in Chevy Chase Presbyterian Church, D.C. Allison and Chuck spent the majority of their 64 years of marriage living in their home in Parma, Ohio. Their Christian faith was at the heart of their lives and she and her husband were active in Brooklyn United Presbyterian Church for over 42 years.

Allison's life was devoted to the members of her family and she was personally involved in each of their worlds. As a parent, she was dedicated to raising her children with strong moral values and giving and caring hearts. She was treasured by her husband, children, and grandchildren.

She also loved to watch tennis, do puzzles, collect lighthouses, and vacation on the Outer Banks of North Carolina.

Cherished wife, mom, and grandmom, she takes a piece of each of our hearts with her but leaves us a legacy of love to share.
