Alma Louise Outlaw Boone, 88, passed away on December 15, 2017 in San Antonio, Texas.

She was born on November 12, 1929 in Carlsbad, New Mexico to Nigle C. and Mildred L. Outlaw. After being delivered by her Grandfather (Dr. L. H. Pate), Alma was raised in Ralls and Post, Texas. She graduated Post High School in 1947. While attending Post High School, she played on the girls' basketball team making All District her junior and senior years. Alma played on the first Post girls' basketball team to play in the State Tournament.

Following high school, Alma attended Baylor University, graduating with a B.S degree in 1951 and was then certified as a Medical Laboratory Technologist at Baylor Hospital in Dallas, Texas in 1952. While working at Baylor Hospital she met her future husband, Stephen Austin Boone Jr. They were married on September 20, 1952 in Post, Texas. This union lasted 50 years 23 days.

Following their marriage, they lived in Snyder, Midland, Monahans, Lubbock, Odessa, and returned to Midland in 1963. She worked as a Laboratory Technologist for various hospitals, retiring from Midland Memorial Hospital in 2012 at the age of 82 maintaining her professional Certified Medical Technologist license for 60 years.

During the 49 years Alma was in Midland, she was active in multiple aspects of St. Luke's United Methodist Church, making its members her "second family".

In 2013, Alma moved to San Antonio, Texas to be near her oldest son and family, until the time of her death.

Alma is preceded in death by her husband, infant son, parents and sister.

She is survived by her sons Stephen Austin Boone III and Nigle Eugene Boone and their families.

Viewing will be Thursday evening December 21, 2017 from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. at Ellis Funeral Home. Graveside services and interment will be at Resthaven Memorial Park Friday. December 22, 2017 at 10:00 a.m.
