Almerida Lewis age 89 died peacefully on December 28, 2014 surrounded by her loving family.

She was born in Watkins Glen NY, to Antonio and Marietta (Sforza) DeDominicis. She was married to Ned S Lewis on June 15th 1946.
She lived in Montour Falls NY and worked at Schuyler County Hospital until retiring in 1993.

Almerida was a 25+ year active member of Catholic Daughters #628, as well as St. Benedicts Society, Schuyler County Senior Citizens Club, RSVP, as well as being a Eucharistic Minister and fund raiser. She loved her family, her relatives and her home as well as baking, bowling and playing cards.

She is survived by her sons Les (Jill) Lewis, Carl Lewis, daughter Janet Lewis, granddaughters Katie and Christine Lewis, special nieces Joan Specchio (Watkins Glen, NY), Diana Springfield (St. Augustine FL), cousin Annajean DeDominicus and special nephew Pierre Bievier (Burdett NY), and half nephew Joe Butterazzi (Savona NY), as well as many nieces, nephews and friends. She is also God Mother to Kristen Bellinger and Joanna Modla,

She was predeceased by her loving husband Ned S. Lewis, and baby daughter Cathy Ann, as well as brothers Samuel, Ernest, Joseph, Americo, and her sisters Rose Bievier, Mary Modla, Luginia Sardo, Lena Solometo and Edith Bellinger.

Friends and family may call from 9:30am to 11am on Wednesday, December 31st, 2014 at the Link in St. Mary's of the Lake Catholic Church, 905 N. Decatur St. Watkins Glen, with funeral mass to follow at 11am. She will be buried at Holy Cross Cemetery in Watkins Glen NY. In lieu of flowers the donations may be made to Catholic Charities of Schuyler County,607 N. Franklin St., Watkins Glen, NY 14891.
