ALVENA B. HASEWINKLE, 97 of West Salem, passed away at 3:15AM; Saturday, Nov. 28, 2015 at the Rest Haven Manor in Albion, IL.

She was born on Apr. 26, 1918 in West Salem to Dennis and Hulda (Schwarzlose) Clodfelter. She married Wallace Hasewinkle on May 13, 1939 in Henderson, KY and he preceded her in death in 1983.

Wallace and Alvena lived on their farm East of West Salem most of their married life. Alvena
was a homemaker, wife and mother, a member of the Zion United Methodist Church of West Salem, where she taught or helped a Sunday School class for thirty years. She also has a 12 year perfect attendance in Sunday School.

Alvena was a fifty year member of the Order of the Eastern Star.

Three children were born to this union. Charles (Chuck) Hasewinkle, twin daughters Jean (Don) Rigg and Janet Spaulding both of Albion, IL. Six grandchildren Brett and (Shari) Berger, Tony Berger, Eric and (Kimberly) Rigg, Travis (Kindra) Rigg, Michael and (Rhonda) Hasewinkle, & Jared and (Nikki) Hasewinkle. Fourteen great grandchildren Nichole and (Patrick) Dwyer, Kayleigh and (Jeremy) Witter, and Eli Berger, Morgan and (Kaleb) Jones, Kaleb Rigg, Kaiden Rigg, Logan Rigg, Tristan and (Billie) Hasewinkle, Kristie Adams and Tobiah Hasewinkle. Four great-great grandchildren Isabella Jones, Emmalyn Jones, Lane Jones, Ramsey Hasewinkle and two on the way. Also one brother Vernon Clodfelter of West Salem, IL and a daughter in law Gail Arvin.

Preceding Alvena in death were her parents, her husband, one son Chuck Hasewinkle and a son-in-law Bill Spaulding, and one brother Virgil Clodfelter, & two sisters-in-law Mildred and Lydia Clodfelter.

Funeral Services will be held at 11 AM, Wednesday, Dec. 2, 2015 at the Zion United Methodist Church in West Salem with burial to follow in the Moravian Cemetery at West Salem, IL. Visitation will be held from 10 AM Wednesday until funeral time at the church.

Memorials may be made to the Edwards County Senior Citizens or to the Zion United Methodist Church and envelopes will be available at the funeral home.
