Ambra Marie Sutterfield Rodgers, 86, of Paris, passed peacefully on Monday, Aug. 28, 2017, at home surrounded by family members.

Bright-Holland Funeral Home has scheduled services for 11:00 a.m. Friday, Sept. 1st, at the United Pentecostal Church with Rev. Robert Myre officiating. Eulogies will be delivered by Leonard A. Rodgers, Jr. and Stephanie Barkley. Graveside services will follow at 3:00 p.m. in Highland Cemetery in Durant, OK. The family will receive friends from 6 – 7 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home.

Ambra, the daughter of Joe Cecil Sutterfield and Oma Neese Sutterfield, was born on Jan. 7, 1931, in Comanche, OK. On Dec. 30, 1946, she married Leonard Ray Rodgers in Sherman, Texas building 70 years of family and memories. Ambra was a housewife. She was a member of the United Pentecostal Church.

She was preceded in death by her husband, parents, a grandson, Alfred Lee Jacks, a daughter-in-law, Kim Rodgers, a son-in-law, Paul Jackson, siblings; Barney Sutterfield, Roger Dale Sutterfield, and Josie May.

Survivors include two daughters, Joyce Marie Jackson of Ft. Worth and Linda Weatheread & husband Gary of Paris, three sons, Leonard Allen Rodgers, Sr. and wife Lillian of Arlington, Calvin Joe Rodgers of Aubrey and Alvin Ray Rodgers & wife Thresia of Irving, grandchildren; Stephanie Barkley & husband Donnie of Gordonville, Wayne Weatheread & wife Kim of Corinth, Leonard Allen Rodgers, Jr. & wife Shelley of Arlington, Michelle Rodgers of Arlington, Jodi Mele & Kerry Edwards of Austin, Misty Bachia & husband George of Mobile, AL, Ashley Mikulec & husband Bubba of Aubrey, Calvin Joe Rodgers, Jr. of Aubrey, Christine Barker of Terrell, Tiffany Callaway & husband Steven of Terrell, Michael Ray Rodgers and Sarah of Ft. Worth, Angie Wilson & husband J. P. of Rockport, Amanda Aguilar & husband Carlos of Murphy, Janette Young & husband Jimmy of Ft. Worth and Paul Daniel Jackson, Jr. & Jodi of Atoka, OK, 31 great grandchildren, 5 great great grandchildren, one brother, Larry Sutterfield & wife Shirley, sisters; Minnie Todd, Mary Jo Rodgers, & Corrine Williams, a brother-in-law, Wayne Rodgers & wife Rochelle along with numerous nieces & nephews and a host of friends.

Casket bearers will be: Leonard Allen Rodgers, Jr., Daniel Jackson, Calvin Joe Rodgers, Jr., Michael Ray Rodgers, Wayne Weatheread and Jimmy Young.
