Amelia E. (Emma) Kissling formerly of Redwood City, CA, passed away peacefully on January 24th at the age of 93.
Amelia was born in San Mateo, CA, to Augustine and Maria Amaya. She was raised on her Grandfather's ranch in Zacatecas, Mexico until the age of five, then lived most of her life in Redwood City.
She was the eldest of five children and graduated from Sequoia High School in 1943. She married Warren Kissling in 1946, and together they celebrated over 43 years together. Warren preceded Emma in death (1989), as well as their eldest son, Kurt, (1980). She is also preceded in death by her siblings, Fred, Art and Paul Amaya, M. Beatrice Gahrahmat and sister-in-law, Marie Amaya (Fred). All are now reunited.
Beloved mother to Deborah and Kevin, and treasured
mother-in-law to Leslie; she will be lovingly remembered. She will also be fondly remembered by her sisters-in-law Helen Amaya (Paul), Marilyn Amaya (Art), and brother-in-law Mahmoud Gahrahmat (Beatrice), as well as numerous nieces and nephews.
Private cremation rites have been held. No services will be held per her request, but a celebration of life will be planned in the future.
