Amy Esther (Crouch) Eichelberg, 89, of Ledyard, passed away at Fairview in Groton, November
16, 2017. Amy was born March 6, 1928 to Stephen James Crouch and Phebe Jane (Prosser)
Crouch of Ledyard. Amy married John Alfred Eichelberg on July 4, 1952 and was married for 59
years until his death in 2011.
In addition to caring for her family, Amy loved gardening and grew many vegetables and
beautiful flowers. She was an accomplished seamstress and also knit beautiful sweaters. She
played piano and guitar and loved to sing hymns and attend church services.
However, Amy's favorite thing to do was to meet people and care for people, both in her job as
a nurse's aid and in her personal life.
Amy is predeceased by her parents, ten siblings, Isaac Crouch, Phyllis Crouch Grundy, Malcolm
Crouch, Grace Crouch, Bernard Crouch, Frances Crouch, Caleb Crouch, Elsie Crouch Peebles,
Daniel Crouch, and Barbara Crouch, her son, Marvin Eichelberg and his wife, Andrea, and her
grandchildren, Michelle Eichelberg and Ian Fogg.
She leaves behind her sons, James Eichelberg, and Stephen Eichelberg and his wife, Dionne,
and her daughters, Grace Cardin and her husband, Tom, and Phoebe Fogg and her husband,
John jr., her grandsons, Daniel Steinberg, Matthew Cardin and his wife, Nicole, Andrew Cardin,
Daniel Cardin, Taylor Eichelberg, Austin Eichelberg and Christian Fogg, her granddaughters,
Suzanne Steinberg, Melissa Eichelberg, Rachel Eichelberg, Hayley Fogg, and Abigail
Eichelberg, her great grandsons, Charles, Benjamin, Dakota, Andrew, Jaden, Ryan, and
Shawn, and her great granddaughters, Katherine, Allissa, Vanessa, Ashlynn, Natalie, Olivia,
Myla, Mia, Andrea, and Maybella, and many nieces and nephews.
