Andre Ladel Larry was born January 26, 1968, to Willie James Larry, Jr. and Jewel Sanders Larry, in Texarkana, Texas, and was called home January 5, 2018, in Dallas, Texas.

He is survived by his wife, Kathy, sons, Arik, Aron, and Deonta, daughter Abrianna, granddaughters Kendall, Adalina, and Ariya; his mother, Jewel Larry; siblings, Meloney Jeffrery, Traci and Richard Roberts, Pam Ward, Chris and Nikki Easter, and Alexis Easter; father-in-law and mother-in-law, J.T. and Greta Spears; many nephews, nieces, uncles, aunts and cousins.

He is preceded in death by his father, Willie James Larry, Jr., and grandparents, Willie James and Ventha Lee Larry, and Bobbie and Tommie Sanders.

He grew up in Hooks, Texas, where he excelled in all sports while attending Hooks High School, and later attended Southern Arkansas University, where he was a member of the 1987 Mulerider baseball team which appeared in the NAIA World Series.

Once becoming a dad, he began creating his legacy of instilling his love for and knowledge of sports by coaching children’s soccer, football, basketball and baseball teams. He positively affected the lives of many children by encouraging each child to be confident in their abilities and be a part of a team. He never met a child he didn’t immediately want to know and impact.

Andre also enjoyed refereeing local Little Dribblers basketball and umpiring little league baseball. It was most exciting to him to umpire t-ball games as he desired to instill a respect and love for the game of baseball early in the life of a ball player. Seeing the pure joy on the faces of the youngest of baseball players as they ran the bases backwards or ran all the way to the outfield instead of first base, all while enjoying the game, was a great joy for Andre.

He will be truly missed.
