Angelina Fraggiosa Hoyt, 86 of Helotes, Texas passed away peacefully on Saturday morning, September 30, 2017 at Morningside Ministries at The Manor in San Antonio, Texas.

She was born in Gloversville, New York on February 9, 1931. She married Lt. Col Ronald E. Hoyt USAF (ret) at Ft. Meyer in Alexandria, Virginia on February 13, 1960 and traveled the world with her husband and proudly served her country as an Air Force military wife.

She attended Alhambra High School in Alhambra, California and represented her city on a Calendar Float during the 1947 Rose Parade, the first time it was televised. She graduated from Los Angeles State College with a Bachelor's Degree in education. She received her Master's Degree in education from the University of Texas at San Antonio.

She taught for many schools across the United States over the course of her long teaching career as well as teaching overseas in Misawa, Japan and Taipei, Taiwan where she also served on the School Board at Taipei American School.

Angie was an adored special education and kindergarten teacher for Northside Independent School District for many years before she retired for health reasons. She felt blessed to have made a difference in the lives of children and would enjoy the visits and notes from her previous students.

Angelina was preceded in death by her parents Salvatore and Teresa Stabile Fraggiosa, her sisters Maria Schermerhorn, and Columbia Greene; and brothers Frank Fraggiosa and Fr. K. Joseph Fraggiosa, S.S.J.

Angie is survived by her sister Michelna Fraggiosa of Kenedy, Texas; and her sister-in-law Paulette Fraggiosa of Altadena, California.

Angelina is survived by her devoted husband of 57 years, Lt Col Ronald E. Hoyt, USAF (ret) of Helotes, Texas; her children, Laurie Ackels, and husband Gary of Helotes, Texas; Ron A. Hoyt, and wife Susan of Katy, Texas; and Steve Hoyt, and wife Debra of Kingwood, Texas.

She was the loving grandmother to her treasured grandchildren: Alexander Hoyt of Katy, Texas; Taylor Hoyt of Chicago, Illinois; Sean Ackels of Helotes, Texas; Dylan Ackels of Helotes, Texas; Jordan Hoyt of Kingwood, Texas, and Morgan Hoyt of Kingwood, Texas.

Aunt Angie is also survived by her nephews and niece, Richard Schermerhorn, Robert Greene, John Greene, David Greene, Edward Hoyt, Arlene Hoyt Schulze, Brian Hoyt and Adam Hoyt.

A special thank you to the gentle nurses and caregivers at Morningside Ministries at The Manor who truly loved her and made her their Bingo Queen.

Family and friends will be received on Friday, October 13, 2017 9:00 am - 12:00 at the Sunset Memorial NW Funeral Home Chapel. Funeral will follow immediately from 12:00 - 1:00 with burial at Ft. Sam Houston National Cemetery at 1:45 PM..
