Mrs. Anita Yvonne Wilson passed away early Tuesday morning, August 22, 2017, in Nacogdoches, Texas, at the age of 80. Mrs. Wilson, a longtime area resident, was born October 25, 1936, in Neuville, Texas, to parents Marcus D Landrum and Laura Reeves Holt.

As a twelve-year-old girl, she was invited to attend First Church of the Nazarene by her friend Margaret Meador. This is where she learned about her Savior, Jesus Christ. She loved her family and church family and would pray for them often, especially in regard to their salvation. She served as a greeter alongside her husband; she helped cook and serve Wednesday night meals; she rocked babies in the nursery; and she traveled to Ecuador to help build a church among many other roles.

Even more, she cherished her role as mother and grandmother. She worked for various businesses in Nacogdoches including McCroy's where she met her husband.

She is preceded in death by her husband of 60 years, Henry Gleen Wilson, her parents, brothers, Marcus Landrum Jr. and J.T. Landrum, and sister Bertie Pierce.

Her survivors include son and daughter-in-law, Thomas and Renee Wilson of Nacogdoches; grandsons, Kevin Wilson of Nacogdoches and Jace Wilson and fiancée Desireé Trevino, of Houston; sisters, Laura Parker (Robert) and Wanda Koonts (Steve); and sister-in-law Dorothy Landrum.

The family would like to extend special gratitude to the staff at Rock Haven Nursing Home, especially Veronica, and to Dr. David Duke for their loving care.

Services have been set for 10:30 a.m. Saturday, August 26 at First Church of the Nazarene, 211 SE Stallings Drive, Nacogdoches, TX, where her nephew, Rev. Curtis Chandler will officiate. Interment will follow at Sunset Memorial Park, 5127 North Street, Nacogdoches, TX.

Visitation will be held from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. Friday, August 25, 2017, at Cason Monk-Metcalf, 5400 North Street.

Pallbearers will be Mark Goodwin, Ray Drake, Marlin Hughes, Dylan Hughes, Jimmie Rogers, and Todd Hiebert.
