On Wednesday, February 1, 2017, Anna Loyce Caldwell Stokes, at the age of 104,gained her heavenly reward and joined her beloved husband, A.D. Stokes. At the time of her death, she was the oldest registered voter in Pontotoc County and the oldest member of Ecru Baptist Church, where she enjoyed fellowshipping with her church family. She enjoyed quilting, cross-stitching and cooking for her family. She will be remembered as always saying, "Hard work never hurt anyone". She loved her Lord, she loved her family, she loved her church and she read her Bible.

Services will be at 1 PM Friday, February 3, 2017 at Ecru Baptist Church with Rev. David Hamilton and Dennis Westmoreland officiating; burial will follow with Rev. Greg Lassett officiating at Ecru Cemetery. Browning Funeral Home in Pontotoc is in charge of the arrangements.

Survivors include her three daughters, Ruth Ann Mask (Jerry), Charlene Tallant and Judy Younger (Tom); one brother: Clifton Caldwell; eleven grandchildren, Jerri Ann Mask, Terri Tutor (Bubba), Wende Mask, Wayne Stokes (Mitzi), Phil Stokes (Kim), Tony Tallant, Tharesa Stutsy (Don), Michael Tallant (Tracy), Jay Tallant, Tommy Younger (Amy) and Timmy Younger (Teri); nineteen great-grandchildren and numerous great-great grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Charles Ervin Caldwell and Beulah Mae Russell; her husband, A.D. Stokes, a son, Clyde Wayne Stokes (Janette), a son-in-law: O.J. Tallant, Jr. three sisters, Mildred Bray, Estelle May and Ruby Lee Dunlap and two brothers, Charles Caldwell and Troy Caldwell.

Pallbearers will be Wayne Stokes, Phil Stokes, Jerry Mask, Bubba Tutor, Steve Cobb and John Bailey. Honorary Pallbearers will be Chad Stubblefield, Austin McDonald and Alex Diaz and Sam Tutor will serve as a JR. Pallbearer.

Visitation will be from 5 to 8 PM Thursday at the funeral home and from 12 to 1 PM Friday at Ecru Baptist Church.

Memorials may be sent to Ecru Baptist Church.
