Ann Mae Gautreau passed away peacefully April 11, 2014 with her daughter, Sandi at her side. She was 94 years old. Anna Mae was a devoted wife and mother, and her family meant everything to her. She was a friend to so many and never met a stranger. Everyone who helped care for her this last year was greeted with her beautiful smile and sweet nature. Anna Mae was born in Chackbay near Thibodaux, Louisiana, but was a New Orleans resident for most of her life, moving to Metairie in the 60's. She relocated near her daughter in Winter Springs, Florida with her husband, Wilbert V. "Buddy" Gautreau after hurricane Katrina, where they enjoyed a wonderful life together until Buddy passed away in 2007. He was the light of her life. She is survived by her two children, Ronald V. Gautreau, and her daughter, Sandra A. Gautreau, and daughter in law Sybil Gautreau. She was blessed with four grandchildren, Michelle Rogers, Gary Gautreau, Josh Roy and Amber Roy, and two great grandchildren, Megan and Morgan Rogers. She was the surviving sister of the late Golden LaRose, Edward LaRose, Loretta Lavagna, and Betty Jean Gallman. A graveside memorial service will be held at Garden of Memories, 4900 Airline Dr., Metairie, La., on Saturday, April 26th at 11:00 a.m. In lieu of flowers, you may donate to the charity of your choice.
