Anna "Bubba" (Hylek) Olifierko, 90, of Acushnet, passed away on Friday, December 11, 2015 at home surrounded by her loving family. She was the wife of the late Emil R. Olifierko.

Born in New Bedford, a daughter of the late Konstanty and Mary (Wrobel) Hylek, she was raised in the south end of New Bedford and lived in Acushnet for the past 57 years.

She was a proud graduate of New Bedford High School and Kinyon Campbell Business School.

Mrs. Olifierko began her working career at Kresge's, Cornell Dubilier, New Bedford Manufacturing and Union St. Railway. She worked at Titleist as a ball winder and in the Accounts Receivable Dept., retiring in 1987.

Anna was a member of the St. Hedwig's Seniors and enjoyed knitting, trips to Foxwoods, making people laugh and spending time at the beach, especially Rat Rock. She was very proud of her Polish heritage and loved Polish music. Most of all, she cherished the time spent with her loving children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Anna's family would like to thank Msgr. Gerard O'Connor and the nurses and staff at Community Nurse Home Care of Fairhaven and Sacred Heart Home for their loving care and compassion.

Her family includes two daughters, Mary Anne Walker and husband Stephen G. of Fairhaven and Elaine Olifierko of Acushnet; daughter-in-law, Susan Olifierko of Pittsburgh, PA; two grandchildren, Alexis E. Bates and husband Timothy of Rochester and Nathaniel S. Walker of Fairhaven; two great-grandchildren, Claire Margaret Bates and Sydney Josephine Bates, "We love you more!"; a sister-in-law, Joan Hylek of FL. She was the mother of the late Joseph M. Olifierko, goddaughter of the late Anne Garvey and sister of the late Frank Hylek and Helen Mastey and husband Stanley.

Her Funeral will be held on Tuesday, December 15, 2015 at 9am from the Waring-Sullivan Home of Memorial Tribute at Fairlawn, 180 Washington St., Fairhaven followed by a Funeral Mass at 10am In St. Francis Xavier Parish, 125 Main St., Acushnet. Visiting hours Monday 4-7pm. Burial in St. Mary's Cemetery, New Bedford.
