Anne Clark Davis, 99, of Clemmons, NC passed away peacefully August 18, 2017 at Trinity Elms Assisted Living. She was born October 1, 1917 in Cole County, MO to Charles J Clark and Pauline Hager. She grew up in Jefferson City, MO and lived in St Louis, MO and Chicago, IL before moving to Charleston, SC, where she met and married Harry W Davis in 1957. She had an adventurous life before settling down, holding many jobs including Doctor's assistant, school secretary and medical transcriptionist. She also worked for several years at WCBD in Charleston, occasionally hosting the show "Queen for a Day". She was a devoted member of Blessed Sacrament Church in Charleston and Holy Family Catholic Church in Clemmons, attending daily Mass until her health prevented it.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Harry W Davis, parents, Charles and Pauline Clark, brothers Louis Clark, Ephraim Clark, John Clark and a sister Margaret Kolb. She is survived by her daughter Liz Davis Redding and husband Tom, grandson Brandon Redding and wife Melody, great grandchildren Savannah, Isaac, and Autumn, a sister Mary Fagan and brother Joseph Clark both of Tucson, AZ, and many nieces and nephews.
The family wishes to extend special thanks to the wonderful staff at Trinity Elms Assisted Living for their loving care of Anne for the past 3 years and the staff of Community Home Care & Hospice for their support.
A visitation will be held Monday, August 21st from 5pm to 7pm at Frank Vogler & Sons Funeral Home, Clemmons Chapel, 2849 Middlebrook Dr. The funeral mass will be Tuesday, August 22nd at 11am at Holy Family Catholic Church, 4820 Kinnamon Rd, with Rev. Father Michael Buttner. A committal service will be held Wednesday, August 23rd at First Presbyterian Church Cemetery in Clinton, SC.
