Annemarie Goergen-Jacobs, 59, died on Friday November 10, 2017 at her home in North Hero following a heroic battle with breast cancer. Her positive attitude, energy, and relentless search for wellness were inspiring to everyone. Ann was born on November 24, 1957 in Flint, Michigan the daughter of George and Helen (LeSage) Goergen. She was a graduate of Powers Catholic High School in 1975 and the University of Michigan in 1980. On September 30, 2004 she married David Jacobs in The Plains, Virginia. Ann worked for Texas Instruments for 16 years; initially as Data Center Operations Manager in Dallas, and the last 12 years in Sales as a Senior Account Manager locating in several Midwest and Eastern locations. Ann transitioned to become Executive Director for Housing and Community Services of Northern Virginia supporting a variety of programs to assist those in need until moving to Vermont in 2006, where she joined IDX/GE Healthcare as a Financial Analyst. Ann served on the board of directors for Vantria Federal Credit Union of Springfield, VA for several years until its acquisition. Ann was an avid quilter and was active in both the Quilters Unlimited Guild of Northern Virginia and the Franklin County Quilters Guild where she served as president for 4 years. Most of her quilting was for charity, family, and friends. Ann was a modest philanthropist with an immense love for family and humanity, always providing what she could to help those in need. Ann is survived by her husband David B Jacobs; two stepdaughters, Karen (Raymond) Weed, Sarah (Mark) Trombley, and 4 grandchildren Jason and Katie Weed, and Jacob and Emma Trombley; her stepmother Dee Bennett-Goergen and family; Her siblings Michael (Ruthann) Goergen, John (Carol) Goergen, Jim (Christine) Goergen, Thomas (Kendra) Goergen, Joseph (Roberta) Goergen, Helen (Keith) Parsell, Paul (Marianne) Goergen; her uncle Lawrence (Florence) Goergen of Osage, IA; Many nieces, nephews, and cousins. Ann was preceded in death by her parents George and Helen Goergen and 2 siblings, Robert and Raymond. There are no Calling Hours. A Mass of Christian Burial will take place on November 27, 2017 at 11:00 am at St. Amadeus Catholic Church, Main St. Alburgh, VT. Burial will be at the convenience of the family.
