Darlene "Annette" Anderson stepped into Heaven on Friday, April 14, 2017. True to form as an early riser, she took her leave in the wee hours of the morning, most likely arriving early for her appointment, because you just never know what traffic is going to do. Known by those she loved as Mama, Nana, Annie, or Annette, she lived a life full of love, joy, faith, and laughter. Born in Houston, Texas on December 13, 1938 to parents Oscar and Patti Suttle, Annette enjoyed the privileged position of youngest child and only daughter in a house full of protective older brothers. Raised in a home full of constant fun and laughter, she grew up seeing every day as a gift from God to be prized, and every person a treasure to be cared for and cherished. A professional hugger, Annette was known for her sweet nature, quick wit, contagious laugh, beautiful smile, gorgeous quilts, and homemade peanut brittle. Oh, goodness gracious, the peanut brittle. Learning to quilt after her retirement (from working since she was 13), Annette was a beloved member of the Stitch & Pray Quilt Ministry of Cypress United Methodist Church, where she was also delighted to find numerous precious friends in the Wesley Sunday School class.
Annette adored her family, treasured her friends, and loved her God with all her heart.

Awaiting her arrival in Heaven were her parents, Oscar and Patti Suttle, and her big brothers Jack and Duck Suttle. Left to tell her story are her children Scott (and wife Monda), Mark, and Jill; her grandchildren Andrea and Taylor; and the brightest star in her universe, her Superman, great-grandson Landon. She is also survived by her eldest brother Duane Suttle (and wife Frances), her sister/cousin Eloise Johnson, as well as numerous nieces, nephews, and friends.

Annette's family would like to express their heartfelt gratitude to Dr. Shawn Davis, Dr. Mohammed Khan, and the nursing & professional staff of St. Luke's Hospital at the Vintage (3North, 3East, ICU) for their tender, loving care in her final weeks, and to the staff of Houston Hospice for sweetly preparing her for her final trip home.

The family will receive visitors at 9:30AM on Friday, April 21 at Brookside Funeral Home in Champions (3410 1960 West; Houston, TX 77068). The Celebration of her life will commence at 11:00AM, immediately followed by interment services at Earthman Resthaven Cemetery (13102 North Freeway; Houston, TX 77060 at 1:00PM. Annette will be honored by the following pallbearers: Scott Anderson, Mark Anderson, Michael Johnson, Wes Suttle, Keith Suttle, and Colton Saye.

In lieu of flowers, friends are encouraged to share a donation with the Stitch & Pray Quilt Ministry of Cypress United Methodist Church or the humanitarian charity of your choice.
