After an extended illness, Antonio Carmine (Tony) Del Greco Jr. passed away on Tuesday, August 13, 2019. He was 89 years old.
The fourth of seven children, Tony was born in Providence RI, the son of the late Antonio and Theresa (Tedeschi) Del Greco. Having served in South Korea during the Korean War, he was a proud member of the United States Air Force Station. He met his wife, Dolly (Stroud) Del Greco while stationed at Lake Charles Air Force Station. His love for aviation brought him to CT in 1959 where he worked at Pratt and Whitney in Assembly and Test Operations. Tony continued his career with the Department of Defense as a Quality Assurance and Program Manager until his retirement in 1988.
Tony had four major hobbies: a passion for listening to all types of music, especially jazz; occasionally playing poker at Foxwoods Casino; watching the UCONN Huskies women's basketball team and the Boston Red Sox.
Tony was predeceased in death by his parents, loving wife Dolly (Stroud) Del Greco, sisters Evelyn (Del Greco) Guadagnoli and Mary (Del Greco) Petreccia, and brothers Joseph Del Greco and William Del Greco.
Tony leaves behind his children; Toni Del Greco, Paul Del Greco and his wife, Marianne, Charlene Del Greco and Steven Del Greco and his wife Cathy; his 10 grandchildren Terasa and her husband, Caleb Sanders, Paul and his wife, Erika, Vincent and his wife, Lindsey, Robert and his partner, Michelle Dion, Christopher, Steven, Ryan, Kevin, Rachael, and Jonathan; and his great-grandchildren, Max Milani, Creighton, Bryce, Lena and Cara. He also leaves his sister, Anna (Del Greco) Bellamy of Marion, IN, his brother Albert Del Greco of Birmingham, AL and numerous nieces and nephews.
Following a graveside service ceremony, Tony will be interred at Rhode Island Veterans Cemetery in Exeter, RI with his wife, Dolly, at a date yet to be determined by the family.
