Thursday night, we said good-bye to our beloved Arney. With a personality as precise as a US Air Force Captain, as strict as a White Settlement school administrator, and as loving as a husband, Dad, Papou and friend you could hope to have, he held many sought-after qualities. He was both skilled and happy to help, hard-working and generous with his time, serious and full of genuine, hearty laughter. He could fix your car, your bike, your kitchen sink. He was never short on advice, a bear-hug or candy for a child. And when you called him on the phone, he always made you think you were really that important.
He was a devout Orthodox Christian who dedicated endless volunteer hours to his St. Demitrios Greek Orthodox Church. He held his family in the highest regard, beginning with a deep and devoted love for his wife, Mary. Together they raised two gold-hearted sons. Chris and Mark brought them two daughters-in-law, Marrlen and Shelia, who honored and respected him, and three grandsons, Alec, Nicholas and Zachary Apollo, who made him very proud. He also leaves behind his sister Pauline, two sisters-in-law, six nieces and nephews, extended family, Godchildren and a treasure of friends. There's no doubt that the world will be a little emptier without him here to teach small hands how to bait a hook, ride a bike, use a power hose.or give a bear hug.
With love and respect, we pray his memory eternal.
