Ponder, Barbara Carolyn Crenshaw "" Barbara Carolyn Crenshaw Ponder, 75, passed away Wednesday afternoon on May 22, 2013. She is survived by her husband of 29 years, Donald K. Ponder, Sr. of Geneva, FL; her children Shelly Kathleen Allred (Raymond) of Mineral Bluff, GA, Molly Anne Weber (Mark) of Kennesaw, GA, and Michael Robert McGinness of Altamonte Springs, FL; her 5 stepchildren; her 2 nieces; her 12 grandchildren and 1 great grandchild; her sisters Melinda Mae Barrett (Joseph), Alicia Joan Casey (John), and Gail Becker, all of Orlando, FL. Barbara was born July 21, 1937 in Tampa, FL to Robert C. and Maude Alice Crenshaw; and moved to Orlando at an early age. She graduated from Winter Park High School in 1955, and attended Florida State University. Her first marriage was to Daniel W. McGinness; they had three children. Following her divorce, she returned to Orlando and reconnected with her classmate Donald K. Ponder. They were married in 1983. After she retired from McFarland Engraving, they moved to their home on the St. Johns River in Geneva, FL. She was a kind, gentle and loving mother, an accomplished homemaker, seamstress, crafter and artist. She had an incredible wit, was enthusiastic about life, loved nature and the outdoors. She was a best friend to many and will be missed by all who knew her. She had way of making everything around her more beautiful; she put people at ease and saw the positive in everyone. A Celebration of Life for Barbara will be held at the Sanford Yacht Club on Saturday, June 29, 2013. She will be laid to rest in a private ceremony at Greenwood Cemetery in Orlando.
