Barbara “Jackie” (Golden) Norman, 69, of Suffield, wife of Kenneth Norman, died peacefully on Monday (March 13, 2006) at her home, surrounded by her family. Born on July 31, 1936 in Providence, RI, she was the daughter of the late Patrick and Margaret (Lavallee) Golden. A resident of Suffield for over 45 years, Jackie was a communicant of Sacred Heart Church. Jackie worked for Kennametal of Windsor and enjoyed the 29 years she spent there. She loved shopping. She spent many summers walking the beach at Scarborough Beach in Rhode Island with her family and spent many winters in Sanford, NC, and Florida. Besides her husband of 50 years, Kenneth, she leaves two sons, Kenneth Norman Jr. and his wife Rebecca of Granby, MA, and Kevin Norman and his wife Michelle of Windsor Locks; a daughter, Karen Norman of Suffield; two brothers, Patrick Golden Jr. of Charleston, RI, and Martin Golden of Lumberbridge, N.C.; a sister, Margaret Carleen Pajor of Estero, FL; six grandchildren, Daniel, Chad, Andrew, Amanda, Stephanie, Michael; and several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by a granddaughter Nicole. Family and friends may gather on Friday 9 a.m. at the Nicholson & Carmon Funeral Home, 443 East St., Suffield; followed by a Mass of Christian Burial 10 a.m. from Sacred Heart Church, Suffield. Burial will follow in St. Joseph Cemetery, Suffield. Her family will receive friends on Thursday from 6-9 p.m. at the funeral home.
