Barry Reginald Savage 74, of Peoria passed away on Monday October 2, 2017 at home with his family by his side. He was born in Montreal, Canada, the son of Alfred James Barker and Muriel Babb Savage. He graduated from McGill University in 1965 as a Mechanical Engineer. He served in the Royal Canadian Air Force reserves. Married Audrey Lee Maybury on August 13th 1966.
Barry is survived by his wife of 51 years, daughter Shereen(Rick) Goodhew of London and son Scott of Dallas Texas, six grandchildren, Marissa, Joshua, Olivia, Emma, Isabella and Braden and brother Robert(Nancy) of North Carolina as well as an aunt, cousins and many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents and a brother Richard.
Barry worked for Caterpillar for over 50 years traveling worldwide and living in Europe, Africa and Asia retiring in 2002. Many years of his career he spent working for Progress Rail which was his lifelong dream and passion. He was an enthusiastic model railroader and skier.
Visitation will be at Davison- Fulton Woolsey Wilton Funeral Home followed by a memorial service on October 16, 2017 from 5-7pm.
Memorial gifts may be given to St. Jude or to International Rett Syndrome Assoc in lieu of flowers.
Cremation rites have been accorded.
A Celebration of Life Service and interment will be held at Christ Church Gregory next Summer in Muskoka Canada, a place he called home.
