Dr. Benjamin Ray Tucker, 87, went to be with the Lord on Friday, April 7, 2017. Dr. Tucker was born to Essie Coleson and Arden Livingston Tucker on April 11, 1929 in Pitt County. He was raised at Oxford Orphanage from the age of 2 until his high school graduation. After graduating from Lincoln College in Indiana for Chiropractic, he practiced with his brother Troy Tucker before moving to Williamston. Dr. Tucker married Hannah Frances Daniel and they were married for 57 years. He practiced for over 40 years in Williamston before retiring. Dr. Tucker was a Mason and in the Lions Club for several years. He enjoyed his bible studies, doing yard work and spending time with his grandchildren. He loved his church family at Piney Grove Church and was in the Adult Men's Class #1 Sunday school. Dr. Tucker was known for his "corny" jokes and tidbit information.
Dr. Tucker is survived by his children, Frances Ann Tucker Bowen and her husband Eddie and Helen Louise Tucker; grandchildren Hank Bowen and wife Elizabeth and Mary Frances Bowen; great grandchild Cora Ann Bowen, and two sisters- in laws, Paulene Daniels and Mary Ella Daniels He also had several grandpups: Bentley, George, Tinsley, and CC. the cat.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Arden Livingston Tucker of Greenville and Essie Coleson Tucker Sanders of Rocky Mount, N.C.; siblings Troy Tucker and half-brother Arden Tucker of Greenville; half-sister Thelma Herring of Gastonia and half-brother Bruce Tucker of Winston Salem, NC.

Funeral Service will be Monday April 10, 2017 at Piney Grove Baptist Church at 11:00 A.M. Burial will follow at Tice Cemetery. Visitation will be Sunday , April 9,2017 from 5:00 - 6:30 P.M. at the church.
