Bernadette LaManna Carr



Bernadette “Nita” LaManna Carr, age 92 of Palos Hills, passed away Sunday, April 30, 2017. She was born September 21, 1924, in Chicago, IL, daughter of Vincenzia “Tina” Muscato and Michael LaManna. In 1960, she moved with her family to Oak Lawn, Illinois. Mrs. Carr was preceded in death by her husband of 54 years, Lester L; daughters, Janet (Raymond) Tracy and Elizabeth (Larry) Skowronski.



She is survived by three daughters; loving mother of Patricia (the late Joseph) Sejba,Palos Hills, Beverly (Bob Faron) Young, Duarte, California and Dr. Mary Lou (Dennis) Kind, New Smyrna Beach, Florida; as well as being the proud grandmother of Lisa Gallant, Chicago Ridge; Laura (Larry) Noyes, Hickory Hills; Amy Summers, Tinley Park; Angela (Brian) Little, Portage, Michigan; Roger (Gina) Young, Tinley Park; Sheryl (Mike) Reed, Pinellas Park, Florida; Brandy (Gene) Clark, Virginia; Anthony Skowronski, Oak Lawn; and Elizabeth (Matthew) Crocker, Homewood; adoring great grandmother of 13; She is also survived by several nieces and nephews.



Bernadette worked for Western Electric for over 20 years and was a proud member of the IBEW. She was a member of the Harmony Club at St. Germaine where she served as Vice President and planned tours; treasurer and membership of St. Catherine and Oak Lawn Senior Center. She was also a Moose Lodge member for over 50 years and Foresters member for 30 years. She was awarded Outstanding Community Service Award from Plow’s Council on Aging in 1992.



A very special thank you to the staff at Peace Village, Palos Park, IL; Diane, Brittany, Judy, Olga and all the aides that took care of her while she was there. Also, the staff of Palos Hospital Hospice.



The family will receive friends at Andrew J. McGann & Son Funeral Home, 10727 S. Pulaski Road, Wednesday, 3-8pm. The funeral service will be on Thursday morning at 10:30 a.m. Interment will follow at St. Mary Cemetery. In lieu of flowers donations to Peace Village Endowment Fund, 10300 Village Circle, Palos Park, IL 60464 would be appreciated.
