Bernard J. Roberts, age 78 of Ashippun passed away on July 19, 2011. Bernie is survived by his loving wife of 46 years Lois (nee Pollnow), son Aari (Jodi) Roberts of Watertown and daughter Andrea Roberts of New York, grandchildren Maya and Seth Roberts, brother Leonard Roberts, sister Delores Jasper, special nephew Clayton (Diane) Roberts, along with nieces, nephews, other relatives and dear friends. Bernie was preceded in death by his parents and eight brothers and sisters. A Celebration of Bernie's Life will be held at First Congregational United Church of Christ 815 South Concord Road, Oconomowoc at 2:30 p.m. on Saturday, July 23, 2011. There will be a visitation from 1:00 p.m. until time of service at the church. Memorials are suggested to The Prairie Enthusiasts PO BOX 1146 Madison, WI 53701. Bernie was an artist, conservationist and avid outdoorsman, who enjoyed creating art, working on his prairie, planting trees, walking his dogs and spending time with his family. He was a US Air Force Veteran who served during the Korean War. Bernie's sense of humor and stories will be missed by all who knew him.
