Bernice Bourque Landry
Vinton- Bernice Mary Bourque Landry, 88, died Tuesday, March 14, 2017, in a local care center.
A native of Kaplan, she was known as "Momo Bea" to many and had lived in Vinton for the past 70 years. She attended St. Joseph Catholic Church of Vinton where she was a long time member of the Catholic Daughters of America. She was a devoted housewife who loved cooking for her family and playing with her grandkids.

Survivors include her children, Al Landry, Jr. and wife, San of Spring Branch, Texas, and Sharon VanMetre and husband, Buddy, and Mark Landry and wife, Shera, all of Vinton; her grandchildren, Rachelle Landry (David), Jody Landry (Odette), Stephanie Landry (James), Jason VanMetre (Amanda), Julie McCardle (Tony), Josh Landry (Richelle), Jonathan Landry (Kendall), and Howard Matthews (Lauren); great-grandchildren, Sofie, Toby, Alaynah, Nate, Caleb, Caden, Paxton, and Clarissa; step-great-grandchildren, Cayden, Lawson, and Hudson; and numerous nieces, nephews, and extended family. She is preceded in death by her husband, Al Landry, Sr.; her parents, Angelas and Anna Bourque; and her eleven siblings.

Her funeral will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday, March 18, in St. Joseph Catholic Church. The Revs. Carlos Garcia and John Vianney will officiate. Burial will be in Mimosa Pines Cemetery South in Carlyss under the direction of Hixson Funeral Home of Vinton. Visitation is from 5-8 p.m. Friday with a rosary service at 7 p.m. and will resume at 8:30 a.m. Saturday. Words of comfort may be shared with the family at www.hixsonfuneralhomes.com.
